As believers, why do we not do the things we want to do, and end up doing the things we don’t want to do? Romans 7:24-25a says “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God – through Jesus Christ our Lord!” We are no longer slaves to sin and must understand our new identity so that we can live by the power of the Spirit. We must be grounded in new thinking and dedicate ourselves only to God. We can trust he will do the work in our hearts to give us the power to overcome sin and live a transformed daily life. Thanks be to God!
